Re: Reset Centreware IS password

Sorry jamesd3rd, I always wait for a while to see if anyone answers these posts before I try to help out.  This Support Community is for our Xerox Customers to communicate with each other and share knowledge, tips, and tricks about the products that they own.  It was not designed with the idea that Xerox would provide all of the answers.  (There is a Knowledge Base for each and every product for that.)

So, please let me know if those instructions helped you.  If not, we'll see what else we can do.

Hello jamesd3rd,

Here is a link to the Phaser 6180MFP Knowledge Base where you can find the step-by-step instructions for resetting the CentreWare IS password.  On the Knowledge Base home page, type the following into the search field (without the quotes), "reset CWIS password" and then click the search button.  Then, click on the first solution presented.  This will explain how to reset the password on your machine.

I believe that the factory password is actually left blank.  You could try that first unless you know for sure that someone in your office has assigned a password.  If that is the case, the reset instructions above should wipe out that assigned password.

Reset Centreware IS password

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

Our personnel office has a 6180MFP and I'm trying to add addresses to the addess book and change the return address for acan to e-mail but when I try to make a change, I'm presented with the Centreware Internet Sevices logon.

I have scoured the User Guide and there is nothing about a default admin logon.  I've used all the combinations I could think of with passwords using 1s and nothing works.  There is also NOTHING in the guide about reseting to the default admin password.

If I go to Properties and check the 'Admin Mode' box and enter a username and password for an admin account I'm also presented with the same logon prompt.

What is the right information to enter so I can get past this?

Thanks.
