So to reset the default password, you have to know the default password?

This is a major issue, I received a new device and the default passwords were not as indicated (111/serial number) Now I am completely unable to get this device onto my network.

How does one RESET not CHANGE the default password on a workcentre 3335?

i cannot seem to figure out the admin username and password, I tried 1111 and the serial number?

1. At the printer control panel, press the Machine Status button.
2. Enter the system administrator user name.
3. Enter the default administrator password and select OK. The password is case sensitive. 
   
   Note: Depending on when the device was manufactured, the default password may be the device serial number or 1111.  
   
   
4. A Change Admin Password screen displays prompting you to change the default password.  Select Change Password.
5. Enter the old password in the field provided.
6. Enter a new administrator password in the New Password field. Make sure to use a strong, unique password.
7. Enter the new password again in the Verify Password field.
8. Select OK. A Password updated successfully message will display.
