SIQA with C60 and Fiery EX Job Settings

Jump to solution

When I try to use SIQA I was getting poor alignment on a saddle-stitched job from oversize tray 7 & 6. I need to verify whether after aligning with SIQA if I should have "tray alignment" checked on or off in the Job options on the rip or in the printer driver?

They are not related, SIQA modifies how the physical printer does the impression, the Fiery option is just a software compensation to the hardware. With it checked you could easily counteract SIQA, but if SIQA isn't working you could use tray alignment to make things better until a tech can fix the hardware.

Saddle stitch should have no bearing on the alignment though, and if the fold is off center SIQA and tray alignment won't do anything at all.

So if it is the fold being off center, login to the copier locally as admin and go to Machine Status > Tools > System Settings > Common Service Settings > maintenance > Finisher Adjustment > Adjust Fold Position

I have a hardware technician here now baselining the C60 alignment and perpendicularity as well. He baselined the trays last week, I ran SIQA aftertward. When he came back in today the base values were different.

My question... Does SIQA change the base values on the C60 hardware?

Yes it does, at least I am quite certain, easy enough to check, have him baseline it , confirm the settings and run SIQA and see the change.

Parts are on order to replace a secondary BRT (or something like this). I'll have tecnician re-baseline or re-confirm baseline then we'll record values and try SIQA to see what happens. Thank you Joe.

The 2nd btr can affect the reg. Ater it is replaced it should be baselined. After the reg. is looking close then SIQA should make it spot on.

The C60 seems to be running good so far and I've only used the Xerox technician's baseline plus EFI tray alignment as I was running heavier stock than could be aligned with SIQA.

I ran a saddle-stitched bookelet on 80lb text Silk paper with the technician's default base and it ran good enough to get the job out the door. Honestly, I was worried to try SIQA before this book job as I didn't want it to screw up the technician's defaults.
