You can downgrade and it will be "fine"
I would certainly not state it will be without any issues though, all the things Xerox fixed in the update will go back to not working.
You will lose the ability to do network traces with the machine as well.
Hi Joe,
Thanks for the information and the link for firmware upgrade.
I have one question. after this firmware upgrade, if i want to downgrade the firmware back to 073.010.075.34540, is it possible without any issues?
Many thanks in advance.
Regards,
Began.
General releases are always on Xerox.com with the machine drivers, spar releases are a pain to get because only the latest version is directly available, so for Connectkey, at the moment I post this, the latest version for all of them is 073.xxx.008.05210.
Any link to those versions will always show the latest version, so while today the 7830 will be 073.010.008.05210, in the future, it will be the version that comes after it.
So try the latest version from this link for the 783X, and if all goes well, update the 7845 from here as well just so they are at the same level.
Hi Joe,
In our 7830 firmware version is 073.010.075.34540 which is the latest general release.
in 7845 firmware version is 073.040.247.3240, is this available for 7830 also? if yes, from where can i get this firmware update?
so that i can update the firmware and do the test with that firmware also.
Thanks & regards,
Began.
If it works on a 7830 it has to work on a 7845 (Same exact machine and firmware family)
So if you tested it and it works, and Xerox tested it and it failed, then it would have to be one of 2 things:
1. Firmware differences, what level of firmware is yours at?
2. Configuration differences (What have you changed from the defaults?)
For number 1, Xerox would have been using the latest General release firmware, which is 073.010.075.34540
For number 2, you could put yours mostly back to the defaults, by logging in as admin and going to Machine Status > Tools > Device Settings > General > Erase Customer Data
Then just take note of what you changed to make your app work
Hi,
We developed connectkey application and testing in wc7830 and found working fine.
we passed the applicaiton for testing to XEROX Connectkey application team and found it is not working in wc7845, altalink and found workinng in versalink MFP.
Since the application developed using javascript, we really don't know what is going wrong.
Just making a SOAP call to the service to check user authentication. The service is hosted in azure cloud.
Is there any settings should i have to check? or any suggestion which helps me in investigating.
Since we don't really have those machines, don't know how to go about.
many thanks in advance.
