Scan to Email and Firmware Failure

Product Name: WorkCentre 3335/3345
Operating System: Windows 10 x64

Sometime in late October I installed a WorkCentre 3345 for a customer. Install went fine and the Scan to Email worked flawlessly.

Customer was as happy as could be and used the Scan to Email feature daily for a month until they called me and said the Scan to Email wasn't working.

Went in and checked it out and did the usual troubleshooting. They have a WorkCentre 6515N that I installed using the the same email account and I was able to verify that Scan to Email was working on the 6515N unit and the email address was operational as well.

Changed email accounts, checked everything, changed everything with no luck. Decided to try a firmware upgrade since the existing version was older (60.002.01.000).

Let the unit sit for 45 minutes with the "Please Wait" error. Figured something was wrong so I power cycled it and tried it again with the same results after 30 minutes.

Something is going on with this machine that shouldn't be happening after a few months.

Any ideas? My biggest fear is that we're slowly going to see this machine become less and less capable over time and once it is out of warranty will cease to function entirely.
