Re: Scan to Email function

Jump to solution

It would appear the answer is no.

The firmware you are running is from August 2009.

The latest is from November 2012. So I would guess that SHA-2 is not part of it, and it is not mentioned in the release notes.

Having said that, you can try it by grabbing it here. ( Version 1.227.127)

If all else fails, you can try something like SMTP2Go

Did you mistype that?

Xerox doesn't appear to have a 7248, We do have a 7428. (Not sure of models outside North America)

The 7428 got it's last firmware in October of 2016, which is version 75.14.93 (North american version) which had some SMTP fixes, but I am not sure if SHA-2 was addressed. Fuji Xerox has not been very good about fixing it on older printers.

017-714 is 100% caused by SHA-2, which would have been enabled SMTP server side.

Dependant on the printer you have, it has been fixed in a spar software, or will never be fixed because the machine is not expected to support it.

Re: Scan to Email function and Microsoft Exchange Server 2010

Are there any inherent issues with a "HOSTED" Exchange 2010 server? I'm specifically wondering if there are requirements for SSL/TLS. I'm aware That there are only 3 Xerox devices that support SSL/TLS. Just doing some research prior to consulting with a customer.

Thank you so much!!!  On the copier I've been using to test...I had put a space in the hostname when I changed the IP addresses of the SMTP server.

I have spent a week on the phone with our copier maintenance people and Xerox and nobody suggested that until you!!

Thanks again!!

Re: Scan to Email function and Microsoft Exchange Server 2010

Jump to solution

is this helpful?

Problem:
The machine declares a fault code 027-772 whenever an Email job is attempted. The error sheet that may print out states "SMTP server rejects HELO command". Cause:
The Host Name entered into the machine contains spaces or slashes (forward or backward).

Print a machine Configuration Report and ensure that the Host Name specified in the machine does not contain spaces or slashes. The Host Name can be found on page 5, under the header "SMB " on the Configuration Report.

If the machine's Host Name must be changed, perform the following from within the CentreWare Internet Services web page of the machine:
1) Click on the Properties tab
2) Expand the Connectivity folder
3) Expand the Protocols folder
4) Select TCP/IP
5) Edit the Host Name field to remove all spaces and slashes.
6) Click Apply, enter the User Name and Password (default is 11111 and x-admin) if prompted and reboot the machine.
