Re: WC3215 hibernating (cant wake it up)

Jump to solution

Am following up on this again.

am back to square 1 - the printer puts itself to sleep and needs to be restarted to be able to print something.

I have verified via the port setup that SNMP is not enabled.

Suggestion welcome and appreciated!

UPDATE

i saw that there were some other port options in the list - even though they were not checked (maybe from previous installtio attempts?) - i went into them and UN-checked the SNMP checkbox

i then did a test page, and it printed.

If Windows 10 updated to build 1709 then it would be possible that MS managed to convert the port again to WSD, but I have not come across that issue.

Windows should have no idea if the printer is there or not, so check the port again to see if MS changed it again.

I have no idea, since we disabled LPR byte counting and SNMP on the port, Windows should not be able to even know the state of the printer, which was the point of changing them.

WC3215 hibernating (cant wake it up)

Jump to solution
Product Name: Other - specify product in post

I recently installed a new WC3215 with the gracious support of the folks here - http://forum.support.xerox.com/t5/General-Information/Installing-WC3215-on-Network/m-p/211738

I also even managed to install it on another laptop via wifi.

But over the last few days (unconnected to having the new laptop steup) - i cannot print from my network-cable connect desktop PC.

I get a MS error saying the printer is in errpr state.

Trying to wake the printer up with the green button does not help.

The only thing that helps - is to manually switch off the printer

and then on again -

and then the printer works - and even prints the document i had previously sent and failed.

What can be done?

thanks!
