Wi-fi Direct

Product Name: WorkCentre 3025
Operating System: Android

Hello,

I just bought the WorkCentre 3025 and I cannot use the Wi-fi direct feature.

I used CentreWare tool and I enabled it. I manage to connect to the printer SSID "DIRECT-uwWorkCentre 3025" but I'm not able to find the printer from my PDF viewer or e-mail client... 

What am I doing wrong ? Please assist.

You don't connect to the printer at all, there is no reason to do that step, Wi-Fi Direct just needs you to be in range of the device and have MOPRIA installed.

I installed Mopria Print Service on my Android phone. I see the printer in the list with the name DIRECT-uwWorkCentre 3025 and I was asked to connect to it. I get the message on the printer display to confirm with OK button and the devices were connected. However, on the phone I have the message "Connection to DIRECT-uwWorkCentre 3025 failed;Failed to retrieve printer capabilities".

I had a look on the Mopria troubleshooting guide and I found that my printer is not supported ?! 

What else can I do to use the Wi-Fi direct functionality ?

I can't be sure as to what is stopping it from retrieving the capabilities, so check all the things MOPRIA/Airprint rely on. Which means basically

mDNS, IPP and HTTPs should all be enabled on the printer.

You may want to update the firmware, the latest of which is available

I don't have access to a 3025 to do screenshots so I can't help with the settings locations
