WiFi Connection Fails regularly

I have encountered the same problem with every printer I have ever owned, including this one, in that it frequently loses the connection with the WiFi network. either unplug the printer and restart it to restore it, or I delete the printer and reinstall it in order to restore it. What can be done to improve the reliability of this system? Does anyone have any suggestions?

Wi-Fi problems can strike anyone at any time, no matter how much networking experience you have. But if you’ve not come across a particular Wi-Fi issue before, there’s no harm in not knowing how to fix it. All you need are the right tools and a few tips, and you’ll be able to diagnose and solve your Wi-Fi problem in no time.

Whether you’re experiencing problems with slow internet, Wi-Fi signal dropping, or you just can’t connect to Wi-Fi at all, here are some of the quickest and easiest fixes you can try; as well as some advanced stuff for more troubling Wi-Fi problems.

Re: WiFi Connection Fails regularly

Anyone running into an issue adding network printers in Windows 10 recently? We used to be able to let the users add their own printers from the Windows 10 Printer Settings UI, but now even the administrators can't add the printers on their behalf. Here's the error we get: That didn't work. We can't install this printer right now. Try again later or contact your network administrator for help. Error. I notice this is error only occurs for the Canon printers which use Type 3 PCL6 x64 drivers. No errors when we try to add the HP printers which use Type 4 PCL6 x64 drivers. Should we be moving to Type 4 across the board?

Re: WiFi Connection Fails regularly

EDIT: Alright! I think we got it. I think it's just a driver issue, but I did roll back a bunch of updates on my machines so it could be that too. So far, every machine that I installed the Post-script driver for has worked. I can no longer get my Xerox printers to work on a global Xerox driver or PCL drivers of any type, only PS. So if you're having this issue, try the PS driver. It was unfortunately, the only one I didn't try when troubleshooting.

Re: WiFi Connection Fails regularly

Hello,

in both of your cases it's unclear if it's really a wifi issue, I think.

When it fails, can you send a "ping" to the printer's IP? If you get a response, the problem is NOT the wifi.

If it WERE a wifi issue it should NOT help to "delete" and "re-create" the printer (i.e. re-install its driver) on the client's side.

Having same type Issue. I don't print very often at home, but when I want to print, it never fails that my phaser 3260 has a wireless network issue. Right now it's connected via DHCP where my OPNsense router is assigning it a static IP address by Mac address. I try to go to the web interface and get an error that there was nothing sent back. I go to my manjaro machine and it can see it when I put in the ip address but won't find the driver. When I assign it the 3260 driver, it makes the printer and fails when I try to print anything. I'm ready to give up on this thing. I've reset the printer by power button and by hard reset by power. Still does not work. Why is printing so difficult?

I see no one has responded to this post yet. So, at this point I would recommend contacting your local Xerox Support Department to speak with a Product Specialist for more assistance. Please call 1-800-821-2797 or 1-800-835-6100.

WiFi Connection Fails regularly

Product Name: VersaLink C400 Color Printer
Operating System: Windows 11

As is the case with every printer I've ever owned including this one, it loses the WiFi connection frequently. To restore it, I either unplug the printer and restart it and/or delete the printer and re-install it. Anyone have any suggestions to make this more reliable?
