I figured it out, the reason its not installing is because the drivers are not signed. To bypass this follow these instructions:
http://www.howtogeek.com/167723/how-to-disable-driver-signature-verification-on-64-bit-windows-8.1-s...
Then install the drivers. Strange that Xerox does not recognize this issue.
And we all printed happily ever after...
Hi, thank you for the response.
I confirm that theprinter is set to 'Basic Printing Mode'. I tried to install the suggested driver but it goes into a loop. Im taking the following steps:
goto > Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Devices and Printers
Add printer > It finds the printer immediately on 192.168.178.24 (its my correct ip range)
> Next > Have disk > goto the Xerox folder (from the zipped exe) and i select 'win2kms.inf' and select the 'Xerox Phaser 6200DP'.
Then i click Next and Next again on the Printer Name dialog and then it installs but keeps returning to the Printer Name dialog, it never finishes installing.
Any more suggestions are so welcome :)
Regards
Hello Passingfable,
The Phaser 6200 is not fully supported in the Xerox Global Print Driver, please reference the GPD's white paper http://download.support.xerox.com/pub/docs/GLOBALPRINTDRIVER/drivers/win7/pt_BR/SFTWP-03_5.1CUD.pdf. Please confirm in printer properties on the Administration tab, that printer is set to 'Basic Printing Mode' see below
As an alternate to the global driver you could try the windows generic ppd found here
