Hit any button or send a print/fax to it is all that is needed.
If that is not working, there is something wrong.
You cannot disable Energy saver, if that option was there Xerox could not get Energy Saver Certified.
You can check the energy saver settings in CWIS:
And you can grab the latest firmware for the printer from here. If the update and settings don't fix it, a tech would be required to do an Altboot no data backup no clone which will entirely wipe the device and load a completely fresh copy of the firmware (Every setting on it would be lost)
