ok, erase data is not the same as altboot then :-)
probably with erase data, the config is wiped, but doint altboot, all modules are overwritten again
and the module was indeed the problem with the missing trays, because i remeber when it failed on a device of our customer, when doing the automatic upgrade, 1 specific module during upgrade was nog green, but with a red cross
after doing the forced altboot again, all modules were green, and trays were back
I did the Erase all data but the problem still the same. I tried to do the ALTBOOT it works now. Thank you Joe and Fabio so much.
If you are confirming that the Erase all data step I provided did not work, you have to call Xerox and have the technician come out for the altboot. Xerox added the Erase all data option to make it so they would not need to send people to do the altboot.
How could I do the ALTBOOT?
no, didnt try that yet, didnt know it was the same as doing an altboot
will do it next time :)
Hey Fabio, Did you do the erase customer data portion? I have not run into this issue yet but in theory, this new erase customer data thing is an altboot.
hi,
i have also seen the issue, i mostly do automatic upgrades, and it failed the upgrade process, a progress bar was also red
afterwards indeed the trays were gone
after doing an ALTBOOT , trays were back
First try updating to the latest firmware posted here. (This is the only thing I have to give that won't wipe your existing data, everything else after this point is going to wipe this device back to defaults, so be forewarned, beyond this point there is much work to be done)
OK, I'm sorry that failed, it was a bit of a long shot admittedly.
Step one, go to the copier and login as the admin, then go to
Machine Status > Device Settings > General >Erase customer data > Erase customer data
At this point it will begin the process of crushing your hopes and dreams by effectively deleting all your stuff, then formatting itself, and finally reimaging the who shebang. You are looking at a good hour before it will be usable. If it does not resolve it, you would require a technician, because at that point you have done all except a Forced altboot no data backup no clone, but this last step I gave you is just about the same thing. A tech is needed if you are still here after the above steps.
I upgraded the firmware 072.040.004.09100 to 073.040.075.34540 by using the automatic upgrade. The machine seem normal but all trays is disappear and the printer can't print anything and show the fault code 16-560-00. I've tried to install the munual firmware upgrade and the problem is still the same. Please help!!!!
Thank you
