Amazingly the same guys came back today - after i told them this was the issue. 3hrs later they're still reinstalling drivers trying to make it work...

Thanks for your help!

Yeah, it only understands PCL, And Apple hates PCL, Xerox only develops PS Mac drivers.

So you would be stuck with Apples little Generic PCL, which is not currently in OSX 10.12.x from what I remember, and would not have any finishing options, or Layout options, or Color.

So yeah, the printer has no real use in a Mac environment.

hey thanks for the reply. There's no PS kit in the available PDL list.

I would assume this makes this a bit of a bust so far as continuing with the purchase (or buying installing a PS kit, which isn't cheap).
I don't want to lose out on features - I assume if it can print another way it's basically a bit hamstrung: am i right?

Cheers for the help!

You can confirm quickly whether it has a PS kit in the machine, it will show up here in CWIS. (It was an option outside of North America and Standard in North America)

Does it print from a PC with the PS driver?

What about from the Mac with the Generic PCL.

If it has the PS kit, try simply updating the printer.

The latest firmware for North America is here (Do not run it outside North America, it isn't one of those "you get a paid option free things", more of a "bricked device thing")

Hi there

I'm looking at a WC 7435, second hand, which i have with me on a try/buy basis. We have 2 Mac (Sierra) laptops, using a Timecapsule as our router. The macs have the latest Sierra drivers (3.123.0) downloaded from Xerox, and Xerox lists the machine as Sierra compatible.

The guys selling aren't mac people are battling to get it to print from the mac. We have tried 2 ways - Network (fixed IP) and direct USB connection.
I think the USB connection (as its the simplest) is the one that should work straight out of the box, so its the one I'm most surprised doesn't. It seems to set the printer up fine - it recognises the Xerox and choses the right driver. It doesn't show supply levels, but this may be a USB thing. When i print - 100kb image file from Preview - the file leaves the mac, but warning beeps from the Xerox and the job is shown in the history as Completed with Errors, which when i look at the job history are 016-749 - which i think are postscript errors. It's like it doesn't recognise the file we send it.
So far (from USB):

Have set it up through the System prefs > Printrers/Scanners and through the Installer - same results.

Have tried from an old laptop (snowleopard or similar - anyway - same result)
Have tried the old driver (2.112.0)
I have set the printer up as a generic printer and managed a single page of low res black and white printing from it

When i install through te Xerox Installer the test page that prints is multiple blank pages, but the first page has

%!PS-Adobe-3.0
                           %APL_DSC_Encoding: UTF8

%APLProducer: (Versoion 10.12/5 (Build16F... **it then runs off the page**

and (from network)
Can open the webpage controller on the Xerox where we can change settings, reboot machine etc all fine.
Any file we send over the network it returns an error saying that the paper is out (although all trays are full).

To me, if i'm right, it's like it can't handle a PS file, but no idea how this can be!
Any idea out there? It would be nice if I can get this working as far as i know tehy're decent units.

Many thanks!
