You might try the following if you are facing issue with firmware upgrade from Mac
Based on https://forum.support.xerox.com/t5/Printing/Xerox-Versalink-B405-Fault-or-Error-116-313/td-p/214593
Download the firmware (.bin) file, refer to support page for the printer.
Create a folder named ‘DWLD’ on the USB memory device (FAT formatted).
Store the software download file (.bin) in the ‘DWLD’ folder
Switch off the machine, Insert the USB memory device (rear of the printer).
Simultaneously press then hold down the Home and Power buttons until the device powers on and SPECIAL BOOT MENU appears,
Simultaneously touch the letters A in SPECIAL, B in BOOT and the Home button. Do not hold any of the three locations, just touch/press then release simultaneously
At the keypad screen enter code number: 6789#. The SPECIAL BOOT MENU 1/3 screen will display.
Select Download Mode on SPECIAL BOOT MENU 1/3, then touch YES. The UI will display SW update progress. The machine will eventually reboot several times
You can find a video on Youtube for a similar printer that would show you the steps. Search for "Xerox C & B AltBoot"
I was able to run the formware installer on a Mac OS X 10.12.6 machine. The Mac OS X 10.13.3 machine simply sent the printer in an infinite loop for over 9 hours without any success in updating.
As for the Screen, I put in a service call, we will see what happens. Kind of disappointing on a new machine though.
Couple of questions for a brand new Workcentre 6515 DNI. First off, I am trying to update the firmware to the latest. After the firmware is sent, two hours later, the update still does not seem to be completed. Is that normal?
Not at all normal, What version are you attempting here?
65.21.51 is the latest version
Second, the screen it totally unresponsive on the bottom left side (makes the on screen keyboard useless) and parts of the top left as well. Is that something that can be calibrated, or did I just receive a lemon?
If it is a brand new machine I would return it immediately as defective.
