Re: Xerox 5632 install for Windows 7

I tried this and on the Advanced Tab, when I select the downloaded .inf file it shows the correct driver but I get the same error message when it tries to apply the driver.

Re: Xerox 5632 install for Windows 7

you can try this :

install a local printer, use the lpt1 port with a generic driver

once installed, change the portto a tcpip port in the port tab

once installed, change the driver to the xerox driver in the advanced tab

Xerox 5632 install for Windows 7

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

We have a Xerox 5632 installed on a Windows SBS 2003 network with its own IP address. There are Windows XP SP3 and Windows 7 clients on the network. I have no problem installing the 5632 as a Xerox 5632 PCL6 printer on the Windows XP clients but I cannot get it installed on the Windows 7 clients. I have downloaded the Windows 7 PCL6 64-bit drivers from the Xerox website and I have tried installing it as a local printer on a Standard TCP/IP port as well as attempting to install it as a network printer. In both cases I get the following error message:

"Printer driver not installed. Operation could not be completed. error: 0x00000002)"

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
