Hello,
we're encoutering problems with the latest os of WorkCentre 6605, version 201503160652.
On recenlty installed machines we cannot make Automatic Meter Reding work because when we try to enable it and click on test configuration now, machine says "please try again".
This is what we've tried to do:
Is there something else we can do? Is this a common and known issue of this firmware?
Thank you
Karina
Did this happen immediately after updating the firmware or immediately after the time change?
There are at this time no reported outages.
Have there been any LAN changes at the location? Possibly a router?
AMR uses SNMP.
You need to ensure that ports 161,162 and 443 are open between the IP of the printer and https://dcs.support.xerox.com
Printers are new, they arrived with this firmware version and we set up theme as usual giving them a static IP address, valid DNS, correct Date and Time. They are in different offices with different routers. With older firmwares we didn't need to check these ports and the 6605 could communicate immediately. I will check SNMP but I think it's already active in both printers!

Assuming HTTPs was enabled, check the time again, if it is off by 3 minutes or more it will fail the Test Communication in CWIS.
Ok, I will check Http because time is already set as computers time which is synchronized with Internet.
But it seems that it even doesn't try to test communication as it immediately says "please try again" as soon as I click on test configuration...
Thank you
Karina
No way... It always gives same error...Even with all SNMP active
Do a wireshark trace between the printer and the server, then PM me a location to retireve it and I will examine what is happening on the LAN to break it.
Or call Xerox.
Ok, i will do a wireshark trace and send it to you as soon as possible.
Thank you
Karina
Sorry... I replied too quickly... How can i do a wireshark trace between the printer and the server?
thank you
How to run a wireshark trace then replace one of the IP's with the edge server address as listed in my first post.
