thank you
For resetting the copier's settings, you can try performing an Altboot which will reload the software on the copier and wipe out any configured settings. You would need a USB drive to perform this action. I can provide the steps on how to perform it if you would like.
bye for now.
Having Same issue. Hello guys, Apologies for another printer post but does anyone have experience factory resetting one of these. Previous techie changed default password but there is no trace of it so cannot configure printer over the web interface. I do have the printer control panel password (physical access) but no option to factory reset there... there are some 'initialize NVM' options but none of them completely reset the printer so that I can actually log in to web interface. I've called Xerox three times but given up on them because their support is so bad - first two guys transferred me wrong departments and third guy just hung up on me.
Having Similar type question.
I'm a desktop support technician and I'm troubleshooting an issue with a Xerox Workcentre 5775 copy machine, and I would like to just reset everything to factory default settings.
I was told by Xerox support that this was not possible, they say that all settings are permanent and there is no ability to clear or default everything. I don't believe them, I find it hard to believe that there is absolutely no way to clear all settings. So I'm bringing my question to a higher authority - Reddit.
The problem I'm having is a bit more complicated, and I'll not get into it because it's unrelated. But I think it must be caused by some setting somewhere that I either don't know about or don't understand. So if I can default or clear everything (then set it back up on our network) it should resolve the problem - or at least help narrow it down.
I've tried updating/reinstalling the firmware and that didn't change anything, I guess the firmware upgrade retains all settings. And I'm currently at the newest firmware version.
Any help for this?
Is Xerox support right? Is there really no way to reset the device to factory default settings?
Hello,
Please refer to this article on How to Reset the Admin Password.
I'm trying to reset mine too!
I am trying to reset a Xerox workcentre 5330 to factory default settings or at least reset the admin password. Is there any way to do this?
