Hey!
When you did put it in manually, what did you put in?
does the printer have any connection at all to the router?
Check the cable on both ends, and if the green light flashes or is steady.
Thanks!
Any help?
Thanks
Actually, I tried the DHCP and Auto IP and it did not work. Also, I tried the Panel option and added the IP info manually similar to my mac and it does not work as well.
I do not know what to do ;( i hope if you got any ideas?
Hey!
DHCP should be turned off, not the other way around.
The printer should have the same gateway, and netmask as the mac.
The IP-Address cannot be the same, though you only have to change the latest part
192.168.1.xxx etc.
Thanks!
I can see the setting in the mac preferences. But when i set the printer to DHCP, it sets the IP and other options to zero and it is not edtiable and I cannot edit it to the setting similar to the Mac. Any suggestions?
Hey!
Ah okey, the setting is DHCP turning this off will set the machine to static, sorry for not mention that.
When it comes to which settings you should use you can actually see this on the mac.
If you go to System Preferences -> Network and select the network you use you will be able to see IP-Address, Netmask and Gateway etc.
Thanks!
Hi,
In the printer IPv4 setting I do not see Static. I only see Auto, DHCP, Panel and other options. Can you guide me how to set static IP for the printer. Also I do not know which the correct Mask and gateway that I should use?
I am having Linksys router
Thanks for help!!
Hey!
If you usually get the IP-address automatically from the router, check that the printer is properly connected.
If everythings seems correct and it still does not work, try changing the printer ip to "Static" and punch in an IP-address manually that is not being used. should look like : 192.168.1.XXX something.
Also the correct gateway and netmask.
After that, try to ping the printer again.
Thanks!
Hi,
Thanks again, when I ping the IP, I got this error:
Request timeout for icmp_seq 0
Request timeout for icmp_seq 1
Request timeout for icmp_seq 2

And when I check for my Mac IP, it is : 192.168.1.101
And My other Mac IP is: 192.168.1.100
As you can see it i different from the printer IP. How can I fix this?
Thanks,
