A faulty print job can cause this. make sure you shut down the color server then do a format image drive if it does it again.
Will,
I'm sorry that I couldn't get an answer for you before you had to restore the entire image. Since you have, you might try to take it step-by-step when adding each module back onto your system. For instance, install SP2 and then see if you can still run without issues. If so, then reinstall the FreeFlow and see if you have any issues before adding the next thing back on. Hopefully, you'll be able to get the system to where you need it to be and without any issues. If you run into a problem after adding a component onto the system - chances are that whatever you just added is the culprit. If you need help at that point, please post back to the forum!

We decided to restore the ghost image to the factory image - that solved the problem (for now). Once we install sp2, freeflow, etc. to get box up to it's normal state, if this issue re-surfaces, I'll post again ... thanks for your input.

Hi Will,
I am still working with our engineers on this, but they do not have the same software applications that you have so they can only test a certain part of the issue. I'll post more information as soon as I hear back from them.

Fault Code 010-311 was easily fixed - a new printer part had been installed, but not seated fully - so we're back to the original problems as stated above: no tray names in any tray drop downs and no ability to navigate Job Parameters;
Hi John,
Now were getting a 260 error message: 'Fault Code 010-311' - this is something new, so now we have this error message in addition to other issues mentioned above - and creo server is no longer connecting to printer.
Hi John,
The communication between the printer and the creo server (dedicated server) is okay - no fault messages on the 260 screen or the server, and we are still able to ripp/print jobs. We've reset the cable between the 260 and the server, just to make sure, and we have rebooted both the 260 and the server many times (and they are turned off at night).
We have also re-formatted the image disk.
Other than Creo Spire (sp2) and FreeFlow Interpreter and whatever related software the Creo Spire install sets up, we only have a few 'widgets' on that machine that have been there for 3+ years (a batchfile that resets mapped drives on boot-up, and a filewatcher program that watches another server, and when jobs appear there (.dbf's), sends them to the Creo hotfolder.
Problem is that when we highlight the job in the storage area and then choose Job Parameters the program defaults to the Paper Stock tab (not to Print Settings) and it gets stuck on the 'Trays' line item. We can do nothing at that point except close Job Parameters. Also, no tray names are showing up in the tray drop-downs (anwhere in the program): for example, when we try to do a calibration, when we get to the diaglog box that requests us to designate the tray, no tray names are showing up.
Hello Will,
This issue does not sound familiar. Are you seeing a fault or fault code on your printer? If you are, what is it? There may be, or have been, a communication fault between your Creo and the printer itself that could be causing the issues that you are seeing.
Have you tried to attach a different printer to your Creo? If so, did it have the same issue?
Have you tried turning your machine off and then back on? If your machine is on all of the time you might want to turn it off for a minute or two and let it sit before turning it back on again. I need as many details as you can provide about the jobs and what you are trying to print. Also, include any software versions both on the machine and from the Creo if you could please. You can get a lot of that info from the start up page - assuming that you can print one.

Hi ...
creo spire on sp2 (docucolor 260): job paramters locked up:
When we right-click on a job name in the storage area, then choose Job Parameters, the job parameters page appears but we are unable to access any of the tabs except for the 'Paper Stock' tab - all the other tabs (Print Settings, Print Quality, etc). are locked up so that we cannot view the information.
Does anyone know what may be wrong and how we can fix this without restoring the ghost image? Thanks in advance for your help ...!
Will
