I was instructed to replace the black toner on our Desktop Phaser 6510. We ordered new Xerox black toner, followed directions that were included but message on machine tells me it does not seem to be recognizing that a new toner was installed. I tried turning machine off and then on again, took toner out and re-installed but nothing seems to be helping. There is a date on the toner box of 2018-08-13 (not sure if that would be of any help). Please advise.
Hi Monique1,
Thank you for using the Support Forum. Please turn the machine off and remove the toner. Turn the machine on with the toner out of the machine. It should give you a message that the there is no toner. Install the new toner and make sure you hear the click when you insert it. If the toner is still not recognized please consider contacting your support centre for further assistance.
This solution didn't work. It seems there are two different Phaser 6510 printers. They seem to use two different toner catridges. I have a 6510/DNI and one of the catridges is a 108R01418.
I've followed this instruction and other from this forum and nothing seems to work. I purchased Xerox name brand from Staples and I can't clear the replace toner K (black). I'm also out of yellow, but I'm also wondering if I'm even out since I've only printed around 1300 pages total. most of which is black. So I get why the black might be out, but yellow I'm having a hard time believing.
I have two of these exact same printer and purchased them at the same time. I'm afraid of this happening with the other once I use that with around 1300 pages.
I need a workable and fast solution to this otherwise I'm just going to find a different printer manufacture and use this printer as my next target practice at the range. I agree with most users on the forum that it's not simple to find a solution nor cheap. I'm happy to pay the high brand prices so I don't have issues, but I did that and it's not working.
