Just going to add to Joe's response.

After the driver update on the server, you'll need to make sure that all your users know that if they have problems printing, to remove and add the printer back, using the update driver version on the server.

I have seen this before, where I was told that updating the server drivers should be seemless for users. It never totally is seemless ;-)

When you install the GPD there are 2 options for the driver, one that is simply generic (Xerox Global Print Driver PS) and one that is version specific (Xerox GPD PS V5.614.17.0 on mine)

The version specific creates a seperate installation with different registry entries, it is used to test new or older versions and not affect the currently in use non-specific versions.

The Generic uses all the same files with the same names as previous versions, which means when one gets update, they all do, because they all use literally the same files in the Windows system.

Hi Joe - Thanks for the reply! The V3 GPD is being used. Would you please explain how upadting one queue updates all the other queues? Thank you.

If you are using individual native drivers for each device, you have to manually update them all.

If you are using the Global Print driver, you simply update one and they all get it.

Hi All,

What's the best practice to update 100s of print queues (on a print server) with the latest Xerox drivers (PS & PCL)? Is there a Xerox Utility? Thank you.
