scan>email "add me" using printer name instead of logged in user

IT has resolved the issue for me.  It was a service account (OPMPLSMFP12) that got locked.  The account is used to perform the LDAP queries to Active Directory.  From speaking with other IT and Xerox employees, it tends to happen once or twice a year at most accounts.

The address book is now connected and funtioning, as well as the "add me" button.

well, it now looks like the company email address book has been removed from all 47 of my xerox machines...I think this may be an IT issue.

I search for someone's email with the address book and an error/fault 018-749 comes up

I believe that is why it's defaulting to the printer's email.

Any suggestion?  I would really like to get the addres book back so people can quickly search for people's email and not have to manually key it in.

I think an IT ticket may be in order because I have not updated or sent any software/firmware to the machine.

you can have a look on the webpage of the machine

goto properties => services => email => setup => from field (edit)

you can define a default optional name, maybe you should leave it blank?

Previous to today you could log into any of the Xerox machines that were hooked up to the network and when you scan>email, you can hit the "add me" button which auto populates yourself to the To: recipient list.

Now, for some reason if you log in and hit the "add me" button, it uses the printer name/email instead of the users name/email..

Happens to all users and on all Xerox machines (side note: you can still manually type in your name/email) into the "To" field.  A few people are starting to get annoyed with this since the "add me" button is so convenient.

I think it is a IT/Networking/User Groups issue but I would still like to know what people think.
