This unit is working fine from several other PCs, WIN 7 and WIN XP, in the building.
Installing on a WIN7 64 bit PC.
During the installation it starts to look for the networked printer and stops, posting the message -
[ Xerox windows common installer has stopped ] , then installer just hangs.
I have uninstalled and tried the following versions with the same error -
and tried Global Print driver
Assuming the download is the 64bit version, then as long as it extracted to the point of running the installer, you already have what you need. Just close the wizard and go into Start > Devices and printers > Add printer and install it manually from the extracted files in c:\Xerox . Not sure why it is failing on one PC when the same files work on all your other PC's. Seems like the issue is the PC itself, but again, assuming it extracted fine just install it manually, if it doesn't extract try grabbing the C:\Xerox folder from another PC with a flash drive and bring it to the x64 PC.
Thanks - So I took those steps and the printer is created as a local printer using a TCP/IP port with the proper IP address for that printer. It appears I can get to its property pages. But when I try to print, the job goes to the queue and it just hangs eventually timing out and it shows error for printing that document...
I can ping the IP adddress from the PC and it returns pings.
If you can ping it the IP exists, but that does not remove the idea that there are 2 devices on your network with that IP address, which would explain issue number 1.
Put the IP address in the address bar of whatever browser you use and load the printers webpage, see if it is successful multiple times without failing to eliminate that simple possibility.
If it is not a duplicate IP address on the LAN, swap RAW for LPR or vice versa to see if there is something not only blocking SNMP traffic, but also port 515 (LPR) or 9100 (RAW) and when testing LPR the queue name is lp
