Re: 10-540 Machine fuser temperature is being adjusted?

Jump to solution

If it is constantly doing that there could possibly be an issue, but it should happen on specific occasions.

  • Like when waking to start a job (Fuser cools between jobs so it doesn't guzzle power like a toaster, on but unused)
  • Between stocks in a job if multitray pulls are happening (hotter for heavier, cools for lighter)
  • It will cool itself mid run in larger jobs to prolong its life and not burn itself out, this would be more during 1000 page heavyweight jobs than during 10 page plain paper jobs.

This could happen also if the room is too hot, if a ventilation fan is blocked/obstructed, or countless other reasons.

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

Does anybody know the implications of this message on a Xerox WorkCentre 5745?

10-540 Machine fuser temperature is being adjusted. No user intervention is required, please wait. Print and Copy services can continue when the correct fuser temperature is reached; other machine services are unaffected.

The message seems to be informational, but does the message imply that our fuser is about to die?

Our fuser is supposed to have about 60% life remaining.

Firmware level is 061.132.226.02000.
