I have similar problem with firmware 01.00.25 that is not even published on the Web. Xerox tells that is is my network problems and does not want to send anyone or replace the printer.
I'm having that exact problem with my WorkCentre 3325, only sometimes turning it off/on (reboot) does not help at all.
I also have a 6015NI that is showing the exact symptoms described in the first post. Some additional details are that it will not respond to a ping when this happens, and the web console for management/configuration also does not respond. As prevously described, no bottons on the front panel cause the printer to respond or wake up.
The only way I have found to wake up the system once this state occurs is to power the printer off and back on. When the printer powers back on, print jobs queued on networked systems begin to process and the printer prints the documents.
The following information is on the properties page of the configuration web interface (SN removed):
Printer Model: | Xerox WorkCentre 6015NI |
Printer Serial Number: | |
Controller (ESS): | 01.00.23 |
Boot (ESS): | 01.00.00 |
Engine (IOT): | 02.14.08 |
Networking: | 201104081100 |
Color Table Version: | 00.26.00 |
Panel Message: | 00.31.00 |
Network Message: | 00.04.00 |
Have you found a solution?
I have installed the latest firmware, but the error continues.
Dear All,
I have the same problem in Xerox Workcenter 6015 NI. I take a long time in discovering the problem. The problem will happen when you are using a POE switches. You need to switch off the POE feature on the port which used by the printer.
You can switch off the POE by using the smartport feature. You just need to configure the port like a computer which doesn't require a POE feasture.
Thanks

I have a similar problem too. I got my p rinter to wake up from power save mode, but on my laptop it still tells me the printer is asleep and won't let me print wirelessly. From my other computer (linked by USB for scanning) I can print fine, but all of a sudden, no more network connection to the printer. Any suggestions or help tips?
Thanks
Murray
It looks like this problem has re-appeared. Xerox replaced this printer a year ago, and we saw the problem about 6 months after that. Then, earlier this year, I installed the new 01.00.23 frimware, but I still continue to see the problem - 2 times again in the last month.
Again, here's the behavior: When I go to the priner, usually to scan something, and I find it in sleep mode, I cannot wake it up. No button on the printer (other than power off) has any effect, and if I try to print to it from a workstation on the network, the operation results in an error - with the print driver not being able to connect to the printer.
When I contacted support initially, they thought that the printer sleep mode might be getting interference from a surge protector, so they had me plug the printer directly into the power outlet. This did not solve the problem, and ultimately they replaced the printer.
Nobody else has encountered this problem?
Firmware and the Xerox Firmware Update Utility can be found here:
Be sure to select as Language: English (N. America)
even though the firmware is global. Go figure.
The current download as of 2013-01-07 will raise your firmware versions to:
Firmware Version: 01.00.23
Color Table Version: 00.26.00 (no change)
Boot Version: 01.00.00 (no change)
Engine Version: 02.14.08
Panel Message: 00.31.00
Network Message: 00.04.00
Note: Under Windows Vista/7/8, do run the update utility (xrfwdl_6015N.exe) as Administrator, or you will not be able to look up your networked printers.
