My understanding of this product is that there is a B&W start button on the Control Panel that is specific to copying, faxing and scanning in black&white, as well as a Color start button to scan and copy in color.

In this document http://www.office.xerox.com/latest/61EBR-01E.PDF, the speed is listed as "

Up to 5 ppm colour / 20 ppm black and white printing. Up to 3 ppm colour / 20 ppm black and white copying."

Hello haydin,

The Phaser 6121 is not offered here in the U.S. and I don't know much about it.  You should visit Xerox.com/support and choose the country that you are in and search for copying in black and white mode.  There should be an answer to your question in the Knowledge Base for the Phaser 6121MFP.

- Can an 6121MFP copy (from the copy button on the printer itself) in black and white?

- What should be the expected speed of copying in 6121MFP? Currently, it runs in full scan mode, so it takes sometimes more than 20 seconds to copy a single page.
