My last suggestion would be to do a Software/Network reset
Machine Status/Tools/Troubleshooting/Resets
Let it reset both and see if it clears the error*. If it does not I'm not sure what is happening. I would suggest at that point calling for support so you can interact with a person who has access to the device and may know more than myself.
I apologise for not reading what you clearly already typed about the IPv6 being disabled. :-(
*Does not cause data loss
Yes, unfortanately, I have already disabled IPv6 last week but the error still appears.
Thanks
Rice
Disable IPv6 if not used by going to Properties/Connectivity/Protocols/IP/IPv6.
Apply will reboot the device.
Thanks Joe, no, we don't need Autonet.
Yes, the device is configured for a static IP. We don't reserve IPs for printers on our DHCP server (just out of habit I guess...).
The device has been running fine for 2 years until this message showed up a couple weeks ago.
Additional background informaiton:
Windows domain with 2008 print server. Have some Macs that are IP printing to it.
I don't believe this message is causing any problems except everytime some goes wrong, the users blame it on this error.
Anything else I can check?
Thanks
Rice
Do you actually want Autonet? Typically that is used when using a crossover cable and there is no DHCP server.
For any real network you would use DHCP and the router would assign an IP
But more importantly, it should be set to Static so there is no chance of getting a different IP address every reboot, which would break communication to your PC in the driver under normal circumstaces.
Device: WorkCentre 6400X
We get the following error on the panel:
Status Code 016.508.00
Autonet IP addressing error. User intervention is required to Power Off/On the machine. Print and other machine services are unaffected if other network protocols are used.
Things I have done:
Upgraded to the latest Machine Software Version: 061.070.100.24201
Disable IPv6
Powered down the device a billion times
Any help would be great.
Thanks!
