Simple fix. Reset VRAM and all is well.

When I copied the elements from InDesign to Illustrator CC 2014 I got the same results. I then added similar text over the image in Illustrator and that text didn't have this problem. So it is looking like this has something to do with InDesign (both CS6 and CC 2014).

But this problem only started a month ago any time we use large text over a background, include solid colors. We do not see this problem with our WorkCentre 7556 or Phaser 7550.

We see this problem with ID and all of our Macs, which are running different versions of Mac OS X. So I don't see a reason for a change on the computer side that would have caused a change of behavior.

Hi, PaulC!

If the same image prints out fine through Adobe Reader it is not a mechanical issue.

Is this only happening through InDesign? do you use any other design applications?

Best Regards

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

Our 7760 started having a problem around a month ago with large text printed from InDesign CS6 (Mac OS X 10.6.8 to 10.8.5). We do not see this problem with text on a white background but see it with any colored background.

I have tried various InDesign print settings with no changes. The problem was minimized when printing to letter size paper instead of tabloid paper for text at the top of the page. Text elsewhere on the page showed the same problem.

Oddly enough creating a PDF and printing the PDF showed no problems.

We have printed our test pages to a 7750 and a Xerox WorkCenter 7556 and they printed properly. We are suspecting a mechanical problem wonder if it is worth fixing, given that this printer is at least 6 years old.
