Hi; I did try the automated remote diagnostics. It just said to replace the toner cartridge. But surprisingly it was correct, even though I had already swapped out 3 Magenta cartridges from some old stock. I ordered in another Magenta that arrived today and this one worked. It looks like Xerox may have had a batch of Magenta cartridges with bad chips.
Is your printer on the network? You can try the new Automated Remote Diagnostic Tool
If your printer is networked, it can actually communicate with our support knowledge base directly, and troubleshoot itself.
After replacing a low Magenta toner cartridge, I received 7760 Magenta Toner Cartridge Failure. I installed the old cartridge back and the error went away and it printed. I put the new cartridge back in and received the same "Magenta Toner Cartridge Failure". I put the old cartridge that was working back in and received the the "Magenta Toner Cartridge Failure". I tried another new Magenta cartridge and I received the same "Magenta Toner Cartridge Failure" I've powered down and rebooted a number of times with the same results. I also pulled off the top cover of the 7760 and swapped the toner sensors on the machine between the Magenta and Yellow. The problem stayed with the same "Magenta Toner Cartridge Failure". I did go into the maintenance mode and I have the following error code 93,938 Toner crum data mismatch M. I did try updating to the latest firmware from the Centreware screen, but after doing the upload from Internet Explore or Mozilla it just stays at "waiting for 192.168.1.98
I'm open to suggestions?
