Re: 8560 add black ink - diag mode fault

Hi chcsyadm,

Thank you for using the Support Forum. The only code I could find close to the one you are seeing is 21,000.69 which is a Diagnostic firmware mismatch.  The solutions is the NVRAM reset which you have indicated that you have done.  At this point you would need to please consider contacting your support centre for further assistance or wait for the replacement.  I apologize for the problems you have seen and the frustration they have caused.

Thanks,

8560 add black ink - diag mode fault

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

Printer says to add black ink when there is Xerox black ink.

The ink loader has been replaced by xerox technician.

One thing I have done on our other 8560s during this problem is to resest the ink stick count. But when I enter diagnostic mode it errors 21,000.60. In the past, many months ago, I had loaded an unlisted firmware 8.66 on this and all printers during the course of fixing various problems, at the direction of tech support.

I have been reading this old thread where someone cloned a HDD.

http://forum.support.xerox.com/t5/Hardware/Xerox-Phaser-8560-continuing-error/td-p/2840

However, our printer is under warranty. A new electronics module and new HDD have been installed. Now the firmware version is older, 8.54 (I think)

NVRAM reset multiple times and reboots whenever parts are replaced trying to fix it.

Still says add black ink. And diag mode faults 21,000.60

Also replaced the I/O board that interfaces between the electronics module and the ink loader.

And the only way to reload firmware is run a ps file, which I cant print because there it thinks there isn't black ink.

The tech visited three times, so we are going to get a replacement. But any ideas?
