Thanks for your help John, we were hoping we could run the machine without the HDD, but as you have said we will need a new one. The problem we have is that the printer is only 14 months old, so we are out of the warranty period. Xerox Australia want just over a $1000 to fit a new HDD, which is about 1/4 the cost of what we paid this printer. We are not very encouraged by the brand's reliability, and for just a few hundred more we can buy a new Cannon Workhorse Laser, and probably have it for years.
Hello MrContent,
I have heard back from our engineers, and it appears that you are located in Australia. Our suggestion is for you to call the appropriate support telephone number for your country to determine whether you have a warranty or service agreement for your machine. We are not able to see that information in our U.S. system, unfortunately. Your local product support team may be able to help you get a new hard drive for your printer. I'm sorry that I do not have the correct phone number for you to call, but you should be able to find it by looking at the support page link that I pasted below. On that page, on the right-hand side, there should be a link to make a service request. Hopefully, that will get you to the right people.

Hi MrContent,
It looks like you mistyped the serial number the first time. I have sent the request again and will get back to you very soon with an answer.
John

Just in case the zeros are being interpreted as O
Thanks
Hi MrContent,
I provided your serial number to the Phaser team and they tell me that they can not find your serial number in the system anywhere. Are you sure that you typed all of the numbers and letters correctly in your post?
John
Hi John thanks for that explanation. Serial # CFX038207
Hello MrContent,
Since your machine is a MFP, it needs the HDD to function because the HDD is where the OS resides. So, your machine will not function without a HDD. If you can provide your machines serial number to me in a private message then I can verify whether or not your account has entitlement and if you do, the Xerox can ship a new HDD right to your location. Please send me a private message containing your machine serial number and I'll get back to you.
John
Hi Our printer wont boot because it come up with a disk failure code. Can we just take the HDD out and use it without it. It is an option on this model
Thanks
