Re: 8860 MFP scanhead lock

If you have all the restraints removed it could be that something else in obstructing the scanner to move. I would suggest looking inside the glass to see if you can see anything that could keep the scanner from moving. You may want to give a call to your support center to resovle the issue.

Re: 8860 MFP scanhead lock

Hey!

There is two locks on this machine, don't know if thats what you meant though.

There is a scanhead lock and scanhead shipping restrain.

The restrain is to the left of the machine, and the lock is inside, when you open it up so you can see the glass.

at the bottom of the scanhead.

Thanks!

8860 MFP scanhead lock

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

We have an 8860 MFP which displays the message to unlock scanhead.  We checked the scanhead transportation lock and it is not locked, nor was the printer moved.  We tried locking it and power cycling, then unlockng it and power cycling again.  Nothing seems to clear the message.  We've observed the scanhead during power-up self-tests and it does not move.

Anything else we can try before calling for service?  Any help is appreciated.  The printer had been working fine until this problem arose today.  Thanks!
