Adding my printer to Xerox Print and Scan Experience, but it does not show up

Product Name: VersaLink C7020/C7025/C7030 Multifunction Printer
Operating System: Windows 10 x64

For no reason, my printer just vanished from Print and Scan Experience in some point. I find the printer in WIN10 printers list and I am able to print e.g. from WORD. But I cannot control the printer anymore e.g. scanning docs, as the printer does not exist in the desktop application anymore.

I add my printer to Xerox Print and Scan Experience desktop by using XeroxSmartStart exe as per instructions, and all goes well. When installation is ready, screen shows the Xerox Print and Scan Experience 8.73.10.0 desktop is ready among with drivers etc. But the printer still does not show up in the desktop application.

I have uninstalled the application and started everything from zero, with no success with the result.

Any ideas how to proceed?
