Re: [B210 Printer] Enabling network access

WORST ever platform, design and customer service.  Dell specially have these ancient platforms with CDs - insane in this day and age where everything is bluetooth.  I bought this printer, it worked for 5 mins then stopped.  How they have not caught on that bluetooth is infinitely simpler and more consistent than these horrid wireless printers is beyond comprehension.

Thank you so much, I've been struggling with this for two days. The instructions were clear and successful.

if you can get this printer to actually print its a reasonably good printer.
again IF YOU CAN ACTUALLY GET IT TO PRINT ANYTHING OTHER THAN THE TEST PAGE
the setup process is a joke, no settings can be changed without a windows computer and a bunch of worthless installs, since i dont own a windows computer im stuck with all the defaults including the disabled wifi and the test page that prints automaticity wasting all my ink !!!
if im lucky the printer shows up on my Linux computer 70% of the time but the drivers are temperamental and quite often it just says "printing" forever and you have to reboot the printer before it will print.
it seems to print ok from Android as (long as you have a spair RJ45 plug on your rooter since the wifi is unusable)
all in all it is a reasonably well built printer that has been programmed by a complete helmet
im no rocket scientist but my degree in aeronautical engineering and 25 years experience building commercial aircraft that carry hundreds of passengers round the world is quite close. and my degree in computer science should at least give me the basic consent of how a printer should work

What on earth is Xerox playing at?  Are you trying to lose customers as fast as you can?  You need to be a NASA scientist and be willing to spend 2-3 hours researching their "USER GUIDE" every time you want to print an airline boarding pass.  I have never seen such a poor and pathetic setup for basic home printing. If a printer manufacturer ever comes up with a simple printer like bluetooth speakers connect to your phone, that is consistent and simple to use they will corner the market.

The only thing worse than this printer is the support.

Thanks for the rip-off

Re: [B210 Printer] Enabling network access

Hello

I just bought a B210 printer and it doesn't connect to the network. After following the instructions the software cannot find the printer. In this link you provided, where it says to enter the the IP address in your browser, the instructions dry up when it doesn't find the printer. If it doesn't work, your software directs me here and I don't see any solutions.

I have a window 10 Pro Box on an ethernet network. Can sopsme one email me the instructions on how to get the printer installed on a ethernet netwrok. Speciaficcally what to do if the software cannot find the printer. I have tried it with the firewall on and off. I have restarted the printer numerous times. I have tried an automatic setup. I have tried entering the IP address manually. It is setting the printer on a different subnet mask than my network. Where do I changes the subnet mask? The IP address it has selected is 169.254.nnn.nnn. My network is 192.168.0.nnn

Thanks for your help

Raj

Hello jwwskymaster,

I searched our online knowledge base and found an article on how to connect a printer to a wired connection.

Thanks,

How do you tell the printer to recognize the wired network?

Thanks!  I will try to remember that.  So far I have had a good run of successful printing .... as long as I give it plenty of time to 'wake up' after powering down.

Hi Mike, did not find any other resolution other than using Apple Preview to open the pdf instead of Acrobat Reader. At least with this one it consistently works. G.
