I had no help from support. I'd just purchased the printer as though I'd registered it they had no record of it so they wouldn't help.
In the end I uninstalled everything and when I rebooted the computer, I waited for Windows to find the printer and offer to install the drivers and productivity package. That seemed to work.
The install routine is opaque but when it does finally install the printer itself works well.

Hi, William did you get an answer from some one with your problem? I'm having almost the same problem, but I don't get the INSTALL INCOMPLETE message because the installer is freezing when I'm peeking the type of installation ( fast or advance).
I have been ubable to install the Driver for my printer . I used the Xerox Print and Scan Experience, cllicked Install Printers. The application selected Version 4 drivers and downloaded XeroxSmartStart_1_6.028.0_V4. Running this resulted in the failure indicated below. I've been unable to find any other information relating to the failure.
I have tried installation from an administrator account and rebooted the machine before each attempt. I have tried several times and the result is the same.
I've included details of my computer and the displayed error below.
Any help anyone could offer would be much appreciated.
