VersaLink working as designed, unfortunately. The "There are too many jobs in progress to continue" condition occurs on any VersaLink when a user makes a copy from the glass and does not press the on-screen prompt for "Done" after doing so. After the System Timeout, the "Done" prompt will go away, and the next unwitting user using the machine in ANY capacity will get the "too many jobs" message when they attempt to copy, fax, scan, etc.
Only copier on the PLANET (to my knowledge) which requires a 2nd step for making a single uncollated copy from the glass. Cannot even disable "Collated" and have the job run without the prompt, which makes even less sense than having to press "Done" at all.
The only *solution* while the machine is in this state is to press the "Jobs" button on the Home Screen, choose the job in the queue which was not completed by pressing the "Done" prompt, and then press "Done" when prompted again. Once this job is cleared, machine use can continue.
There also does not seem to be an option to change this default behavior for copying from the glass. Why not? This needs to be fixed.
I am dumbfounded that this is an acceptable solution, "It's expected in the VersaLink family, I have not seen reports of it in the AltaLink family though." A VersaLink C505/605 is the only comparable replacement for the WorkCentre 6655, and yet when put in an work environment where the 6655 has been functioning perfectly for 3 years, the users immediately begin to experince this error and significant degredation to their business workflow. It appears that the VersaLink is simply an inferior product and a downgrade from any ConnectKey technology WorkCentre even with matching specifications.
It's expected in the VersaLink family, I have not seen reports of it in the AltaLink family though.
If you copy a bunch originals and while it is outputting the copies , if you try to do another separate job (Copy/fax/scan) it is intended to display this message until the first job clears.
If your scenario is different, call Xerox for 2nd level support.
I am getting "There are too many jobs in progress to continue, delete jobs or wait for jobs to complete."
This happens when I copy and then I have to go to jobs and delete jobs before I can copy again. I talked to technical support and they said it was because of a bad file sent. This happens everyday. Have done overwrite and software reset. THis also happens on their B7225 printer as well.
