C60 & Booklet Maker Finisher Capabilties (North America)

In the process of working on this I'm trying to adjust the fold & staple position on this finisher and for the life of me I can't figure out how to make the adjustments easily. Do you have a resource on how to do this that explains it a bit better than the manual and control panel?

1. Are the adjustments cumulative? I make small edits to the numbers and the fold staple position are all over the place.

I'm guessing there isn't a sneaky work around? Can I somehow ask for a single staple to cheat this?

Unstapled maxes at 5 sheets. It is like that for every finisher, all the finishers mangle the pages badly if they aren't stapled, they just can't hold the pages together and push them out the exit.

Revisiting this I'm still having an issue trying to print a 40 page book that is being run on 12x18, 104 gsm plain paper. Even if I cheat the machine and tell its the lightest paper weight it will not print the book folded in one pass. It splits the book into folded 5 sheet books.

Note that on this job I'm not stapling as we're combining this with a printed and laminated cover that will be stitched offline. (I'm only using the xerox finisher for folding in this instance).

The table above is for the D series finisher that was sold with the 250, it was also sold with the 260/560/700/770/C75/4110/4127/459X product families and more (Finishers don't really require much for advancement so they stay current for multiple generations.

The Booklet Tray will handle up to 20 sets of a maximum of 25 uncoated sheets (20lb

75gsm)/20 sets of a maximum 20 uncoated sheets (24lb 90gsm). The Booklet Tray

will also handle10 coated/uncoated stapled sheets per set at 106 - 176 gsm/ 5 uncoated stapled sheets per set at 177-220 gsm, and can accommodate up to 13”x18” / SRA3 media. (Note: larger media will

result in reduced output tray capacity).

Your job would be 17 sheets coated 180GSM which is nowhere even close to specs for folding. Even without the Gloss/Coated you would be sitting around 5 folded sheets.

WARNING, THE FOLLOWING IS OLD DATA FROM THE PREVIOUS GENERATION OF FINISHER. THE NUMBERS MAY NOT BE IDENTICAL SO TAKE THE WHOLE TABLE WITH A GRAIN OF SALT. EVERYTHING FROM HERE ON MAY BE INCORRECT, BUT THE DOCUMENTATION OF YESTERYEAR IS VASTLY BETTER TO LOOK AT ;-)

I actually used to print that chart and tape it down right on the top of our D series finishers so I always could find it. As far as I know, no such chart is available for the new series of finisher.

My spec brochure for the Booklet Maker Finisher states the maximum 25 sheet / 100 imposed page on 20 lb / 75 gsm media. Is there a list anywhere that states these values for all the various paper weights / types and combinations that can be saddle-stitched?

I was testing a 68 page document and wanted to print it to 80 lb text coated but my C60 wouldn't print it unless I changed the paper settings to Plain [80 - 90 gsm].

It would be handy to have a list readily at hand to know which combinations weights I could print at a glance.
