Hi, Rick!
This is not a printer issue from what I can tell, and yes the SMC Reset is safe as it does not do anything to ur hard drive.
If you think it's a communication issue between the printer and the iMac, I suggest unplugging the network cable from the mac and try starting it up again.
Best Regards
Kimzi

Hi Guys
I was using my iMac to print a 330 page thesis paper on my Workcentre 6015. About half way through, my iMac seems to have shut shop. The printer also ceased to print after a paper jam, as I just can't seem to get the iMac to get up and work again. I am typing this out on my standby Windows desktop.
One of my friends told me to follow the instructions for something called an SMC reset mentioned in this web post about an iMac running slow but I was wondering if someone can give me some assurance that it is a safe move. I don't want to be mass deleting and reinstalling everything.
Also, could this be a printer issue because I wasn't even at the iMac when this issue cropped up. It started when I had put in on print and walked away :(
