That was short-lived. Shut down that afternoon only to see the same error message on starting the next morning. Insert new Drum Cartridge C. :(
The next option is to call for service for a printer less than 2 years old. $225 for the first 1/2 hour and $75 for each subsequent 1/2 hour. Plus parts.
Will likely consider a new printer instead as my toner (and drum) inventory alone in the printer and in supply drawer is worth more than fixing this one.
CherylO,
I couldn't find anything on line but did try and contact service by email. Their response was to call the toll free number although they were courteous in making the suggestion. The toll free number requires a credit card preauthorization for telephone support which didn't please me but I agreed to. The representative who handled the call re-registered the printer and after reviewing things decided it was likely that the new drum cartridge that was shipped was faulty. He ordered a new drum cartridge to be shipped and declined to charge me for the call! The new cartridge was delivered and just installed this afternoon and like magic my 6510 has returned to providing more yeoman service. A frustrating experience - who expects a new drum cartridge to be the culprit! - but a happy ending. Kudos to Xerox.

I have replaced and re-replaced and recleaned the Drum Cartridge C in my Phaser 6510 using a new Xerox Drum Cartridge and the printer still refuses to recognize it as a new cartridge and will not start (it won't boot past the "Insert Drum Cartridge C" error message). Turning it off and on/unplugging it for 10 minutes to reset, reinstalling it, recleaning it, holding down the up and down arrow keys while restarting etc. all to no avail. Help!
