Color Qube 8570 - will not power-up

I recently shutdown my ColorQube 8570 to move it to a different area in the office. When switched on at the new location (same electrical power supply as previous) nothing happens.  The LCD screen does not activate and no lights are illuminated.  This gives the impression that the fuse has tripped in the power lead, however, when I unplug the lead slowly from the printer (whilst still in the "on" state) a crackle can clearly be heard which indicates that the printer is drawing mains power.

I have tried to switch on the printer on numerous occasions but this has had no effect.

The printer was not heavily used and the 12 month warranty has just recently expired.

Any assistance/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, its best to contact your dealer so a technician can be dispatched to change the power supply if needed

Re: Color Qube 8570 - will not power-up

I've experienced a very similar problem -the printer stopped working after a manual power-off. My warranty time is just over, so I need technical assistance.

In my case, I called official Xerox support and they said the only solution to that is to change the entire power supply, the same solution Fabio offers. The price of that replacement is even higher than the printer one, seems like a joke.

Come on, guys, replace the power supply? No workarounds? I made a technician check the power supply and said nothing seems visually damaged.

its a bad thing help is this expensive and this will definitely will xerox costs valuable customers.
I NEVER had psu Problems with my old 8200 8550 /8560 unit but my 8570/8870 units I had the issue twice

Re: Color Qube 8570 - will not power-up

Those are really bad news. But at least you shed some light over this issue. Maybe a letter to Xerox people explaining this will help me (if you find a public complain or report about this issue, I'll be thankful for you to send me the link).

By now, I don't have that ammount of money, and will have to pay third party companies to have my design jobs printed.

Thank you for your answer.

Re: Color Qube 8570 - will not power-up

Hi

We have had 8 of these machines fail with power issues in the last eighteen months. All of them between 12 months and 24 months old. We have in the region of 40 phaser printers and the 8570's have been a nightmare. We still have 8500 machines working that are 8 years old yet the 8570 will not last two years. If Xerox are not prepared to resolve the issue and repair the printers out of warranty then we will be finding a new manufacturer. As we buy all Xerox original inks it will cost them a lot more than just fixing our faulty printers.

I do hope they realise what damage this poor workmanship is doing to their reputaion.

Re: Color Qube 8570 - will not power-up

Maybe someone will have an workaround for that isnt there ANY kind of solution to this problem?
I have two ColorQube with "death" Powersupply sitting on stock
1x 8570DN
and one 8870DN
both failed to start up after move
I open them both up (easy to do:
remove 2 screws in the back
open the front paper cover
open the upper paper path
remove the LCD screen plastic
remove left an Right Case Cover
Nothing was obstructed in the printer
no spilled ink or something like that
the 8870 just printed 3.500 Pages! this beast cost like 3.500 USD !! and its sitting death since Idk how to resolve the issue

Any ideas ?
