I purchased 2 Colorqube 8870 printers 1/20/11. Both start off printing fast for about 250-300 sheets, about a sheet per second. Then suddently printing slows to a crawl, about a sheet every 10 seconds. I've tried putting a single printer on a dedicate power line, same result. If I power down the printer for 5 minutes, power back up, the same thing happens - fast then slow. I also have two Phaser 8560 printers and they continue to print as normal. All printing leaves my computer to an ethernet hub then out to the printers. Any thouights on what I can try?

xerox introduced a new firmware in sept, have you tried upgrading your machine? maybe that will resolve your issue?
I stumbled upon this post in my search to find why my brand new colorqube 8570 printers are slowing down after printing anywhere between 150-300 pages. You say a firmware update fixed the issue, but this was back in January of 2012. I just purchased these machines in November 2014, and immediately updated to the latest firmware which is newer than the file Fabio linked to. Can I ask what your current experience has been with the slowdown issue? I'm wondering why I am seeing the issue when an older firmware apparently fixed the issue in your case.
The printers have been going about 800 pages before slowing down… not as slow as when they first came out, but they still do slow down. I have a fan blowing ACROSS the right intake side of the machine which has helped. Do not have the fan blow directly into the right side of the printer as this caused other issues with paper handling. Hope this helps. The Energy Star rating has come at quite a cost in performance to us who print longer runs. I would highly recommend going with the Xerox eConcierge program… I have used the free printer repair frequently.
The colorqubes are not rated for more then about 500 page jobs. any more then that and the process drive starts to over heat and it slows the machine down to not kill the process drive. this is why it is slowing down for you guys.
