Got it, thank you! I used the new firmware provided, and she's in way better shape than she was. Thanks again!

Joe,
Would you mind sharing these additional troubleshooting steps? I have an 8900X that boot loops with the logo screen. Huge PITA. Thanks :)
There was a misunderstanding, they are entirely different machines and the firmware could not have been installed, there is no question to it, it absolutely did not happen the way the tech said, or how he was understood. You cannot in any way load a 93XX firmware on an 8900, and if you did, it wouldn't boot.
I'm curious how 9300 firmware was used to correct an issue in an 8900... any ideas?
A tech replaced both the hard drive and mainboard, then the issue was resolved.
He refused to load the latest firmware, claiming that after 35 years of on-site teching for Xerox equipment, he believed the firmware was faulty and replaced the parts as a precaution. He told me that he used the 9300 firmware to repair this one.

Hi Joe! I just saw this message.
I will give the troubleshooting steps you shared a try when I get back to the office in the morning. Thank you so much for your help!
Hi, I am having a similar problem with a Xerox 8900. I stupidly took out the Hard drive and formatted it with MSDOS-32 as it had sensitive scan data on it and the machine will now no longer boot up. Can you let me know how I can restore the operating system to the hard drive please.
Regards, Jason
