The tech came onsite and he did show me a few tricks as to how to clean it without dismantiling the entire bypass tray.
I must admit, however, the process for dismantling the bypass tray JUST to get at the rollers for the paper feed is quite lengthy and involves removing about 10 screws then jimmying the face plate of the bypass tray off. All in all, a process that isn't suggested for the end user - no matter what their tech experience is... even if your printer is still under service contract.
So the trick for cleaning the pick rollers in the bypass tray?
-Take a thick piece of paper (bond, envelope, etc) and wet it a bit.
-Feed it into the bypass tray and try printing something to it.
-Hold onto the paper and only let it go in as far as the rollers - this should make the rollers rub on the paper
-Either cancel the print job, or let it go through

Long delay on the response to this, but better late than never.
We are well aware of the solutions for misfeeds and multifeeds and follow these outlines diligently. However, we are still resorting to a support call to have the rollers cleaned.
Is there any way that I could be cleaning these pick rollers myself? I'm looking for directions on taking the tray apart so that I can get to the first set of rollers that grabs the paper.

We use the bypass tray on the CQ9302 for printing to envelopes. It works flawlessly with our process - aside from a routine issue of the pick rollers on the bypass tray needing to be cleaned.
What happens is when the envelopes are being pulled through the bypass tray they will go about 2" in, then stop and say there is a paper jam. The only way around this is to give the envelopes a gentle push when they are being printed to ensure that they are fed through properly.
I've placed support calls on this a few times before - and each time they report that they "cleaned the pick rollers in the bypass tray".
If this only happened once or twice a year I'd be fine, but it's practically every month ... if not more. Even more frustrating is that the pick rollers are contained within a closed area in the bypass tray.
Anyone else experiencing this issue?
