the previous post said. - "I can connect to the printer fine with an Ethernet cable, I think you are correct in that the wifi adapter has failed, I have the xerox 497K16750 adapter. "
I have a similar problem on my 6510 and it uses the wireless network adapter # 497K16750 also but my start-up menu or my Admin Menu refuse to allow me to select the wifi network. I can see and talk to the printer fine with a hardwire ethernet cable but not with WiFi.
I cant think of anything else that would explain your symptoms.
If it were me, I would try to temporarily connect the printer to your network using a wired connection just to test the machine connectivity. (Of course you will need to enable the wired connection on the printer). If you get an IP address with this method, then I would suspect the wireless adaptor.
What type of wireless adaptor is it? How is it physically connected to the printer?

1. Is the 6515 setup with a Static IP configuration or using DHCP?
2. Are you familiar with printing a configuation page on this device?
3. Does the config sheet show an IP, subnet mask, gateway, etc after reboot?
Andy
I am not positive, but since you did a factory reset, the machine may default to use a WIRED connection. On many Xerox products only one type of connection can be valid at a time (either wired or wireless, but not both). Normally, this wireless connection must be enabled and the wired connection must be disabled for wireless to function.
Again, not sure if this is the case with your device or your situation... just thought it was worth mentioning.

Hi,
Im hoping someone can help with this beause its driving me insane!
My Workcenter 6515DN has a wifi adaptor installed, which was working absolutly fine for months, I hadnt printed anything ina while but recently I tried and found the printer wasnt on the network anymore, I checked the printer and it wouldnt find my wifi network at all but found other peoples nearby, after many restarts I factory reset it and eventually it found the wifi again...
the problem is, even though it can now see my wifi, when I input the password the printer now states I need to restart to enable that setting, it restarts and hasnt connected to the wifi at all, tried this a few times and even tried another router to be sure and that has the same problem.
Is this something I have done wrong? or has my ludicrusly expencive printer died?
