Re: D125 booklet with Heavyweight 1 paper type will not allow fold or staple

Hmmm ok that explains why you knew about the querky Custom Size issue.

We did not try selecting a heavier stock, It works fine as long as we select Plain as the paper type.

I will do some more testing when I am on site but somehow, somewhere, deep in my memory bank, I have seen this before on some other product.

Thanks much Joe.  I appreciate you.

About 15 years, I was on the team handling Light production monochrome in your devices predecessors (1010/2101/4110/459X/4127/459X)

And sadly, I have no idea what the issue is with yours, I don't know anything about NVM's.

Is it messing up just on Heavyweight, or is it Heavyweight and up? The answer to this question is more my curiosity than "well that explains it" fare. More of a "just how broken are we talking here?".

If just Heavyweight 1, it would stand to reason something has mixed the signals between Heavyweight 1 and 300 GSM Glossy.

But, if it is everything above plain paper, I'm not sure there would be a signal that would cross them all.

Of course, I am not an Engineer, and don't know enough about NVM's to even know if that is possible.

Wow - I can tell you have been around a long time. Yes, I know exacly what you are referring to and the Custom size thing sure can cause problems. In our case we actually selected the paper tray which had auto detected the ppr size and we programmed the ppr to be Heavyweight 1.

This may sound dumb, but is it loaded as Auto Size detect and getting seen as 11*17, or are you programming it as 11*17?

I have seen issues occasionally where stocks loaded as standard sizes, but done ala Custom don't get treated properly.

Thank you Joe. Do you think it is an NVM that is not set? I checked and double-checked the CED and spec sheets and Heavyweight 1 is supported and should be able to fold and staple.

You are missing nothing from what you are stating, assuming it is a supported size for booklet (Letter/Legal/Tabloid/12*18/SRA3/A4/A3/B4) making you would need to have a tech brought in.

D125 booklet with Heavyweight 1 paper type will not allow fold or staple

Jump to solution
Product Name: Xerox D95/D110/D125 Copier/Printer
Operating System: Not Applicable

The D125 with embedded Xerox server will not allow us to fold and/or staple a booklet in the Copy Mode to the booklet maker. An error message: Unable to fold and staple this paper type. The spec sheets indicate the booklet maker thresholds for number of pages per booklet based on paper weight, etc. In our case, as soon as we select our paper stock of Heavyweight 1 (106-216 gsm) and Booklet Fold and Staple, the error message is displayed when we hit the Start button.  According to spec sheets we should be able to use Heavyweight 1 paper.

What am I missing?

Thanks in advance.
