Re: Dicor restring

I do not know of an "official" position on this, but in talking with some of my colleagues would say that the initial supposition that it is just how the glass formed on the dicor is correct. This "spiraling" should not cause any defects in your output.

The fact that one of the dicors had this spiraling on it when the magenta artifact occurred for yuou Bryan could have been coincidence. Defects due to a bad dicor are usually because of a crack in the glass and, while possible, it is unlikely that this was because of any spiraling that you noticed.

Re: Dicor restring

I'm 50/50 on it.  In my experience there seems to be some wiggle room here.  If I notice it on installation, I let it go.  Just today I had an artifact in magenta, so I pulled the charge station.  The only obvious defect I could see was a very pronounced spiralon one of the dicors.  Swapped it out, and I was golden after that.  So...

I wonder what the "official" line from Xerox is...?

Re: Dicor restring

I have noticed the twisting and always thought that is was the way the glass was laid on it.  No we haven't had any problems with it.

Has anyone noticed that most of the restrings seem to be twisted (like a candy cane)? Do you think this is causing issues?
