Dirt on Glass lens

You are supposed to clean the scanner glass once per month, however, if you are in a dusty environment, like construction, you will be required to clean it much more frequently.

Hi, 

For a while now our Workcentre 3345 has been having a recurring issue whereby dirt is getting onto the small glass lens meanung when a document is scanned through there, it scans a black line vertically down the page. 

My solution is to use a clean microfibre cloth the remove the dirt from the lens. I just want to know if theres any solution to this from other usrrs who may have encountered a similar problem? 

I'm open to any suggestions!
