Re: Disabling NTLM for Kerberos Authentication

Below are a couple of tips you can try: 1). Configure Kerberos Authentication Options for Server Message Block (SMB) - https://www.support.xerox.com/en-us/article/en/x_alc80xx_en-O2636. 2) Access Hidden Webpage to Enable or Disable NTLM v2 - https://www.support.xerox.com/en-us/article/en/2108304. Both articles are written for differnt types of machines, but you should be able to utilize the instrucitnos for the VersaLink C70xx series device.

If you are still having issues after trying these steps, I suggest that you call into our support department for assistance at 1-800-821-2797 or 1-800-835-6100

Disabling NTLM for Kerberos Authentication

Product Name: VersaLink C7020/C7025/C7030 Multifunction Printer
Operating System: Windows Server 2012 R2 x64

Hello Everyone,

We recently decided to disable NTLM authentication in our DCs security policies. So that Kerberos could now be the active authentication process. However, upon this change SMB scanning stopped working on all of the Xerox MFPs we have in the office. We enable Kerberos on every Xerox machine, but when we check the packet capture between the Xerox client and File server. We still see that with Kerberos enabled xerox is still trying to use NTLM with the file server. I tried to disable NTLM with Hidden webpages provided by them HTTP:IP/diagnostics/NTLM.php, but it seems that they may have removed the hidden webpages from the new versions of Xerox MFPs. Is anyone else going through the same with their network clients and scanning?
