Re: Driver issues with Xerox Phaser 6300DN printers and multiple OS's

Thanks Fabio.  Once I was able to find where that folder was on my Windows 7 machine with the drivers I got it accept the 32-bit printer drivers.  ~Marty

Re: Driver issues with Xerox Phaser 6300DN printers and multiple OS's

.19 is also ok...

when it asks for the x86 , browse to a 2003 /xp /7 client with 32 bit software... search for this folder in the system directory "ntprint.inf_x86_neutral_c4c11fe1f3d01835"

that folder includes the 32 bit x86 files the wizard asks for...

Re: Driver issues with Xerox Phaser 6300DN printers and multiple OS's

So is that Windows 7 32-bit and Windows 2008 server 64-bit systems for which the global driver should work?  The only driver available for download now is 5.158.19.  This is the one I used for PCL 6.

How does one respond to the prompt "Please provide patch to Windows media (x86 processor)" when attempting to add the 32-bit driver from the sharing tab?

Re: Driver issues with Xerox Phaser 6300DN printers and multiple OS's

hello,

the global driver version 5.185.15 is working perfectly for windows 7 and windows 2008 server

i advise to uninstall what you installed on the 2008 server

also remove the driver from the print server properties.

install the new 64 bit driver on the server , then add the addional 32 bit drivers through the properties of the driver in the tab sharing.

for the clients , also uninstall every xerox printer and the drivers from the print server properties , then install the printer from the server...

Driver issues with Xerox Phaser 6300DN printers and multiple OS's

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

We have a Xerox Phaser 6300DN that we share from a file server using a Standard TCP/IP Port with an ethernet address.  We are attempting to migrate it from a Windows Server 2003 machine to a Windows Server 2008 R2 machine.  Using the 64-bit drivers we are actually able to print to it via the network on the Server 2008 machine from Windows XP machines and from the server itself.  But when we try to print from a Windows 7 Professional workstation, we cannot.  After defining it on a Windows 7 (32bit) machine, when I go to print a test page, I get Function Address 0x67a20a8b caused a protection fault (exception code 0xc0000005) Some or all property page(s) may not be displayed.  After that, I can navigate to the general tab and click on Print Test Page and get "Test Page Failed to Print".  As I said, it works fine from the server itself (running Windows Server 2008 R2) and WIndows XP machines, but we cannot get it to work on Windows 7 machines.

The Global printer driver does not work - a Windows Test Page prints as a hundred pages of unprintable characters.  So we apparently have to use the 6300/6350 driver.  The old Windows Server 2003 is being decommissioned and so we have to come up with something for our Windows 7 users in the office.  Thanks for whatever advice you can offer.
