Drum and Toner cartridge not recognized

Product Name: WorkCentre 3225
Operating System: Not Specified

I installed a new drum and toner cartridges and my printer says to install drum cartridge and install toner after doing this.  I've tried turning the power off and letting it sit for 10 minutes land then reinstalling both cartridges and still getting same message.  Is there an update I need to do? I've tried cleaning contacts and no luck either and my old cartridges say the same thing.
